My dragon is one which originated in Ancient Greece.
It is a Hydra Wyrm. His name is Hydros. He is very fearful looking, but he looks after my galleons which i keep separate from gringotts bank. He gaurds it fiercefully knowing I'm trusting him. He likes to play a bit rough, but sometimes he can be as soft as a puppy. Hydros is olive green with a dark green under belly, which is unlike a Hydra Wyrm because most have a yellow under belly. Hydros has webbed feet and enjoys being underwater more than flying but when I ride my broom, he likes flying. Hydros can shoot both jets of frost and fire, and knows how to combine both of them. Legend has it that Dragons use the light of the moon to produce energy, others say they eat sheep and oxen (or maybe hot chilly peppers for fire).
Hydros is a Hydra Wyrm with a medical condition which allows him to fly. Most Hydra Wyrms do not have wings and cannot stay above water very long. Hydras are said to have 5-15 heads, and whenever you cut one of it's heads off, two more pop out. It is said that the middle head of the Hydra is immortal and made of gold. They are normally characterized from their thick legs and tail. They represent fertility and in the bible the Hydra dragon's mouth is the gateway to hell, but these are only the biblical dragons, My dragon is an African Hydra. The name can either be Hydra which in Greek means "water serpent" or Excedere which means "to outbid". Although they orginated in Greece, it is said that most Hydras were breed in Turkey. Hydras were created by a magical being named Denairastas who stole seven hatchings from the Great Dragon Thermail, gafted seven together to form the first a second was created form the first and they breeded from then on. The average Hydra Wyrm has an average of 4 meters of a neck, 4 meters body, 5.5 meters tail, but only .7 meters of a head! The brain rests on the base of it's spinal cord, usually has 36 teeth. Mainly live in swaps deep water estuary, or deep lakes.
Some believe that they Hydra might not have that many heads, it was just depicted with movement in the older days. As if the heads are something depicted as movement since you know they couldn't draw movement.
The Hydra is known for having accidic blood, and for it's poisonous breath that could kill a man just with inhalation. This is it's strengths.
The only way a Hydra can be killed is when after the heads are cut off they are cauterized like Hercules did with aid of his nephew Iolaus. After cutting off all the heads, he burried the immortal head under a rock. This is it's weaknesses.

My dragon is a dragon snake combo called Quetzalcoatl he has the power of lighting and has the icredible speed in the air that alows him cut air. He is loyal but friendly but with such a furocity and power that can destroy a city although its that powerful it has no affect to waterdrakes and icedrakes

My pet dragon that i chose is named KONRAD. He is a Komodo dragon.The Komodo dragons are the largest lizards in the world , and with their ancient appearance and evocative name they conjure up the stuff of legends. The heavy-set body is long with stocky legs and a long muscular tail; the scaly skin is greyish-brown all over . Dragons from the island of Flores however, are earthen-red in colour with a yellow head . Juveniles have a more striking pattern with very variable combinations of bands and speckling in yellow, green, grey and brown . Komodos have a well-developed sense of smell and their long, forked yellow tongue resembles the mythical, fire-breathing dragons of their name. When He turns into an adult he would like to be solitary, which means alone. However, the Komodos strength is that they are powerful predatora and are up for any challenge. A weakness that Konrad has is...that they dont work well when not in a group formation. { which happens alot}

Chinese Fireball

Also known as Liondragon, the Chinese Fireball is the only Asian dragon and has a particularly striking appearance. Scarlet and smoothed scaled, it has a fringe of golden spikes around its snub snouted face and extremely protuberant eyes. The fireball gained its name for the mushroom shaped flame that burst from its nostrils when it gets angry. It weighs between two and four tons, the female being larger than the male. Eggs are vivid crimson speckled with gold, and the shells are much prized for use in Chinese Wizardry. The Fireball is aggressive but more tolerant of its own species than most dragons, sometimes consenting to share its territory with up to two others. The Fireball will feast on most mammals but seems to prefer pigs and humans. She is the famous Chinese dragon. She is a ying long. She is a winged dragon covered with fur. I named her Lim Ee Lin.

The element of Fire governs the southern quarter of the circle. Its dragon ruler is Fafnir, who oversees the dragons of Fire and the sunbeams. Its colour is pure red; it is considered warm and dry. The positive associations of Fire are: noon, summer, the sun, blood, enthusiasm, activity, change, passion, courage, daring, will power, leadership. Negative associations are: hate, jealousy, fear, anger, war, ego, conflicts, lightning. Subspecies of the Fire-element dragon family are those of fire and volcanoes. The subspecies of desert and arid-region dragons, and those of chaos and destruction, often work closely with draconic entities of this element. Dragons of Fire and VolcanoesFire dragons are all shades of reds, oranges, and deep yellows. They have thick, heavy bodies and long snakelike necks and tails. Some of them sleep in dormant volcanoes for long periods of time before they once again become activeThese dragons are also visible in forest fires and large structure blazes. They are very unpredictable, unreliable, and difficult to work with. If not properly handled, and then only within a cast and sealed circle, fire dragons will do as they please with a magician's spell. They will achieve the asked-for end result, but may "burn" their way through everything to get there. Dragons of Fire and volcanoes help with personal purification on all levels of being, energy, courage, stamina to pursue goals and finish projects, remove obstacles and barriers. Be very certain you want their help in the barrier-removal, for these dragons will go through and over anything and anyone to achieve the goal. The results can be swift and difficult to handle emotionally.
The destructive powers of the dragon derived from its fiery breath, which can devastate whole countries. Dragon's eyes also have this fiery red quality, sometimes believed to reflect the treasures they guarded. Rain clouds and thunder and lightning were believed to be the dragon's breath, hence the fire-breathing monster.
In Armenian traditions, the fire and lightning god had powers to stay the dragon's control of the heavens, as could thunderbolts in Macedonian myth. A dead man was thought to become a dragon, while dragons were believed to be the guardians of treasures in burial chambers.

WEAKNESS

The dragon fears nothing except the elephant with whom he will engage in battle, entwining himself around the elephant and inflicting fatal blows. However, as the elephant finally collapses, his fall crushes the dragon to death.
The dragon is supposedly the enemy of the sun and the moon, both in Eastern and Western mythology, and is believed to be responsible for eclipses. These occur when the dragon is attempting to swallow either of the heavenly bodies; which accounts for the dragon's appearance in primitive astronomy.
